Where It All Began

Hey there, fellow cat adventurer!

I'm Rob, and Kitty Kingdom started three years ago with one determined cat who refused to accept the limitations of our living space.

It Started with a Climber

My first cat had one mission in life: reach the highest point in every room. Fridge? Check. Kitchen cabinets? Absolutely. Countertops? Daily. I quickly realized that the cat trees available in stores and online were either ridiculously overpriced or poorly made with materials that wouldn't last.

But more importantly, through research and watching her behavior, I discovered something crucial: cats don't "act out" – they're just desperately seeking the outlets and stimulation we're not providing them. That's when I found and started offering the Kitty Kingdom cat tree.

Then Came the Kitten

Not long after, we adopted a second cat – a kitten who'd been living in my parents' backyard. He brought a completely different energy to our home, and I quickly realized our original cat tree wasn't stable enough for two active cats. That led to developing the 3-rod system for extra stability.

But then I noticed something that changed everything: both cats spent most of their days pressed against windows, staring outside. Whenever we opened the door, they'd crane their necks, desperate for a glimpse of the world beyond. They weren't content just climbing anymore – they wanted to explore.

I wanted to give them that experience, but I was terrified of the risks.

Discovering Adventure Cats

That's when I started learning about adventure cat culture in Japan and Taiwan, where taking cats outside safely is much more common. I met some of my own clients who were successfully taking their cats on outdoor adventures, and I started researching everything I could.

When I finally shopped for adventure cat gear for my own cats, I hit the same wall I'd hit with cat trees: most "adventure cat" products are actually just small dog products rebranded. But cats and dogs have completely different needs, movement patterns, and escape artist tendencies.

So once again, I decided to create my own line – starting with properly designed harnesses, leashes, and carriers that actually account for how cats behave.

My cats continue to be my best product testers and my inspiration. Where they lead me next, I'll follow – because if my cats need it, chances are yours do too.

Every product at Kitty Kingdom is something I've tested with my own adventure companions first. If it doesn't meet the standards I demand for them, it doesn't make it into our collection.
